The ladies will approach you. Had little cutie sitting with me but she seemed very shy. Mamasan say I can take her upstairs for 1 hour, but I wasn't in the mood to play scrabble at the time. Can't recall the music but it was tolerable. Worth a visit.

Review January 2006: 100% All Girls

The seating has been revamped since my last visit, the individual tables having been replaced with two rows of raised bench seating with ALL GIRLS A GO GO spelt out repeatedly in black duct tape, a rather tacky touch in my opinion. Looking around, I could not fault their advertising, 100% All Girls indeed, did not spot any katoeys amongst the dozen or so dancers in the room, all decked out in white bikinis with a choice of either fishnet stockings or tights depending on the girls preference, as was the exposure of breasts. Bottled Heineken was 99 baht a bottle, nor bad in a Soi that has a reputation for overpriced drinks, none of the girls on view were exactly stunning, but mostly pleasant enough 7-8's , not enough to hold me for more than one beer.

Review January 2006: Hard Hat and Wallet Lock

The bar is low down on my reviewing priorities as previous trips to bars in this group have usually featured high prices and excess hassle.

Whilst my fears were not entirely ungrounded, I had a very pleasant evening in the bar. The bar is reasonably attractive and features a central stage with 5 topless dancers. The bar employs about 20 girls. Not top notch quality but they were generally attractive.

The music is dance music but have picked up on the idea of selecting tracks that are re-mixes of old songs. This makes the music danceable for the girls but familiar for the clientele.

The lady drinks are perversely more expensive than at top notch gogos so this bar hardly offers value for money. This is not a massive problem on a one off pleasant evening but it would count against regulars visits. It would also make any poor encounters even more annoying.

Although the management were overly keen on selling ping pong balls, prize tickets, lady drinks and barfines, they readily took no for an answer so this was not too much of an issue.

The girl I chatted to was friendly and not too pushy but I did learn that the bar offers an all in short time experience in convenient rooms for 1800 Baht.

I will surely pop in again in but will wear my hard hat to fend off management assaults and my wallet time lock to restrict spending.

The walls have been painted black, with florescent stars and moons. Lots of black lights, but overall the lighting is poorly designed (should have been set up to highlight the stage and "shower sink", instead of the dumb disco ball in the middle of the place).

There's a large sink basin that doubles as a shower show stage and another stage at the end. They opened upstairs without enough chrome pole talent and instead had enlisted some roly-poly service staff to dance in braless t-shirts and white mini skirts. A few of these girls had never been dancers and when some relief showed up about 20 minutes later, they made like a bat out of hell for the changing room then head back downstairs.

Then there appeared 5 naked show girls doing the chrome pole shuffle.  Crowded though, even with only a few customers. After the 5 nude dancers finished, the service girls got on stage. After a few minutes they left and we had a lesbian show. After that they had 3 dancers get on stage naked to do the chrome pole shuffle again

The naked girls dancing were reasonable lookers. One I knew was from Supergirls.

I asked about the 3rd Floor and was told it would be ST rooms.

Review by Kerry, July 2006: Lofty Ambitions

Angels A-Go-Go, formerly known as the Circus, opened it's doors to the public on 19 July 06. Located on Walking Street across from the Living Dolls Showcase, it is owned/managed by former New Living Dolls staff.

Although there are plans to use 4 floors of the building, only the bottom floor was used for the grand opening. A "shop-house" a-go-go, it is very narrow inside. Dancers are aligned along the right wall as you enter, with padded couch seating along the left wall. A couple of high tables with poles and dancers are also spotted along the left side.

As can be expected it is very cramped, even with only 20 or so customers. The lone bathroom is located at the back of the club, passed the bar, under the stairs. As it is the only facility for all the customers and staff, expect it to be busy. If you need to use the toilet, remember to duck your head when you stand up or you will brain yourself on the underside of the stairwell.

As mentioned, there are plans to use the upper 3 floors as well. No sure how successful that will be, as anyone wanting to go upstairs will have to push their way to the back of the first floor, then hike up the stairs to the upper levels. Maybe if they offered cheaper drinks the higher up you go?

Speaking of which, regular mixed drinks go for 140 baht. Bar fines are 550 baht for dancers and 600 baht for showgirls. Never stuck around to see what "shows" they had to offer though.

News July 2006: More Angelic Upstarts

The Thai management previously associated with New Living Dolls One have split off to open a new GoGo in the small venue previously used by Circus A-GoGo.

The opening date is said to be July 19th. The bar also has an upstairs area that will be used eventually so perhaps it will be a little bigger than when used for Circus A-GoGo.

The place has come on in leaps and bounds, where a few months ago it was well getting on a par with Angelwitch in Bangkok , now by using the full potential of the area, particularly its height, it has ascended to a totally different level.

If Angelwitch stays like this and keeps evolving there will be queues down the street in high season. In my mind it compares more than favourably to the Crazy Horse, without the latter's formality. This casualness is created by the friendly nature of the dancers. In the Crazy Horse you do not get a dancer plonking herself down next to you looking hopefully for a drink!

Review June 2006: Pasties

I can't say I was impressed by the pasties the show girls were wearing last night.

It is almost worse than showing nothing, to be teased with the sight of a breast and to see the nipple covered with a little blue star is simply irritating.

Angelwitch run a series of 20 shows per night, but have around 35 in their repertoire. The shows you see on one night may not necessarily be repeated on the following evening.

There are currently 15 show girls. Most of the girls are very well trained, with quite a few easy on the eye.

Being unkind, there are a number of the 40 or so non-show girls who look as though they've been subjected to a good stoning, and not with happy weed. Compared to the girls in quite a number of the better dens around town, the majority of the dancers in Angelwitch do leave a lot to be desired on the looks front, but make up for their lack of model status by being a generally friendly bunch.

Don't miss the bathrooms :) The urinals are mounted on the wall facing the stage & you'll understand why they put the restroom up there immediately. There's one way (I hope?) glass at head level and you can still watch the show while taking  a piss :D

Review by Materialsman, February 2006: Dressed by the Taliban

The last time I was in Nana Plaza in BKK, the Angelwitch there was for me the outstanding bar of the bunch, so I was looking forward to seeing what the Pattaya branch had to offer. The place itself is nicely done out, if you like red anyway, lots of chrome and walkways which I feel sure play a part in the shows, a bit like stepping into a huge version of Dracula's coffin, I was a little early so there were no shows for me to compare with what I saw in Nana, so the action was a little dull, plenty of dancers on show, some honey's amongst them though.

I have to say that the waitresses appear to have been dressed by the Taliban, must be the least sexy waitress outfits on Walking Street, I was also not keen to have a girl thrust next to me on the sofa within 15 seconds of sitting down and being pestered for lady drinks constantly whilst sipping on my 115 baht bottle of Heineken. It's a matter of personal taste, but I like to settle in, take a look around, and select a companion by myself in my own time rather than being treated like a sex starved Russian sailor on shore leave who's going to grab the first female that hovers into view, so I drank up and left, shame, hardly an auspicious fist visit, but I will return at 'showtime' one day to get a proper balanced view.

Review From Nana Plaza January 2006: Not a Lot of Nudity

The club is big, like an enclosed, circular amphitheatre with three tiers of bench seating surrounding a large, circular central stage. There is a circular mezzanine about 15 feet above the ground floor with tables. There is also a steel catwalk above the stage at mezzanine level with "fireman's poles" that descend to the stage below

The lighting and sound system were first rate, like you would see in a top class venue; clearly a lot of professional input and big Baht went into this place.

The owners reportedly shook-up the local Go-Go scene, offering wages way over local scale for top performers, a lot of other owners were pretty pissed off, I'm told.

The line-up on stage was decent, but nothing outstanding. The costumes were 100% Nana Plaza and not a whole lot was showing, some tits during the shows but not a lot from the regular dancers.

There were a lot of cute service girls who would return a smile and sit and accept a drink if offered.

I'll certainly give the place high marks for design, lighting, sound and ventilation. The shows were vintage AngelWitch, no surprises, just better lighting and sound. The girls were good but no new stunners I could see.

Even though it was a Saturday night in high season, it wasn't crowded, although every other top bar on Walking Street was packed. They clearly have their work cut out getting the word out and convincing people to walk down a narrow and congested Soi to get to a place they can't even see from Walking Street. This place will need a lot of traffic to support it and the competition is intense and won't go away. At Nana Plaza, AngelWitch is really the only place with a professional level show but in Pattaya, they're just one amongst many.

I wish AngelWitch, Pattaya "Good luck"; they're going to need it.

Babewatch Walking Street: Soi 16, Covent Garden Complex Review: News from Pattaya Secrets, July 2006: Watching the Sale of Babe Watch Babe Watch now has a new owner. The bar will be completely re-modelled over the next 2 months including the removal of the high central stage. The entrance will be changed over to the other side of the bar where Catz, Club Boesche & X Zone are. The new bar is promised to very stylish.

It was also reported that ex-staff have been paid from the proceeds of the sale.

Meanwhile it is reported that the staff who relocated to Champage A-GoGo didn't find it a happy home and are on the move again.

A brief visit indeed as I scooted off elsewhere in my never ending quest to compile a census of where all Pattaya girls originate from.

Review June 2006: Dance Marathon

The bar has about half a dozen tables with a girl dancing on each one. The girls would show off their wears for a 20 baht tip but the tables are very high and it is all a bit uncomfortable on the neck and lacking in decorum to partake.

I much prefer my tipping to be directed at girls on my level and within my grasp. I found a pleasant girl here more than happy to oblige. All would have been set for a fair few drinks but when my girl 'go dance', I noticed that the girls dance 2 songs on each table making for about a dozen long songs.

A bird in the hand is worth two on a dance marathon, so I went to find my next bird in the next bar. It was a pleasant enough bar though.

Review January 2006: In Your Face

I made Beavers my first port of call and found it to be a fun place. The girls dance on the mirrored tables that you sit at without knickers on and the reflection is excellent, not to mention the fact that if you offer to attach a 20bt tip to the top of their stockings, the view as they squat to accept the tip is really in your face. I also found the 45bt Heineken draft to be easy on the wallet and as I ventured further into the street found this to be a common offer to entice patrons, which made it really cheap to check out the various venues and have a couple of beers in each place. I didn't find the girls in Beavers to be too pushy and quite enjoyed the experience, even though I didn't find anything to take my fancy.

Review December 2005:

I have always has a lot of time for the respective clubs run by the two co-owners of this establishment, they seem to have decent business heads despite the daily intake of brain shriveling shooters, so I was looking forward to the visit.

The place was heaving now at 8 p.m., an hour earlier I poked my head through the curtain and it was a ghost town, although it transpired that the majority all belonged to one 'party' and once they had left there was only a dozen or so hardened drinkers left, jealously clutching their 'happy hour' draft beers, personally I avoid the draft beers here so ordered my normal bottle of Heineken (95 baht) and settled in to take in the ambience.

A little smaller than I expected and the décor was a little basic, although with the guys track records, I feel sure this will be addressed over time, nice uniforms on the girls, and although Beavers is essentially a table dancing club, it is not quite as, to coin a phrase 'in your face' as the Beach Club'. One thing I have to say about the up lighting on the tables, the girls with pretty faces and good figures (90% in truth, good totty quota) were enhanced by this feature, but the small percentage that were shall we say a little less beautiful and shapely, the lighting made them look like extras in a horror movie!

All in all though a pretty decent place, which I am sure knowing the reputation of the co-owners can only get better, and a very decent place to kick off your Walking Street evening tour.

October 2005:

The platform the girls dance on is mirror-like and so you can see the vadge and the girls also crouch down in order to show you their wares. The staff are non-pushy and friendly. No pressure to buy lady drink's - I don't think I have been asked once on my 3 visits and the atmosphere is good.

The girls with nice tits push their bras aside so you can see their tits and some have a very nice rack indeed.

Barfined a gogo girl there about 10 days ago, short time 1500, I think 500 barfine. She wouldn't go long time (at 10pm)

Review from Pattaya Secrets, March 2006: Give Me My Tip Now

Many of the girls are not interested in accepting Barfines as they can make significant sums of money in tips for doing little more than dancing. If they are interested in accepting a Barfine, their perceived "loss of earnings" will be reflected in their initial "asking price".

When I was last dragged into the Beach Club there was a group of 4 Thai Guys clutching wads of 20, 50 and 100 Baht notes which they were regularly depositing on the girls. Despite the place being busy, the girls were not at all interested in other Customers, only in ensuring that they extracted as much as possible from these Thai Guys.

This club was the one that started the entire table dancing craze/infection/plague in Pattaya. It was fun when it first opened because the girls were thrilled to be getting tips and were actually putting on some great individual performances to get them.

Then their attitude quickly changed from "This is fun, I just got a tip!" to "Give me my tip now, you jerk!" even as their efforts to earn those tips became nothing more than squatting down with an extended hand to receive the money. I'm happy to tip a 20 if the girls are trying to make an effort to entertain me. Otherwise they don't deserve any tip at all for simply shuffling listlessly around a chrome pole.

Review December 2005: The Beach is Full

I really disliked my jaunt in there. Overcrowded and I had to move twice when even more people came in.

Review October 2005:

The bar was heaving. There are no two girls for every table. Maybe not so much tip giving maybe because there are so many girls that the customer learns to say no quick quick.

No central stage. The girls do a knickerless dance on your mirrored table. The dancers do a slow rotation of all the tables and expect tips for their efforts. There do not seem many resting dancers for lady drinks but there are many hostesses.

The staring up at the knickerless beauties is a little hard on both the neck and on decorum.

Review May 2006: More Pool than Gogo

The venue is a comfortable lounge with several pool tables, a long bar, sofas and a gogo stage along one wall. Music is tuned to the preferences of the older farang customer rather than dance music for the girls.

The gogo aspect of the bar has been scaled down somewhat in the last few months. There were just 6 dancing girls of which 2 or 3 were on stage at any one time. The bar was busy when I walked in but a few minutes later it was quiet. The girls were dancing pretty keenly for an audience of just one.

The girls were average and overdressed in bikini top, skirt and knickers. I was wondering what is the point of the venue with dancing girls not really proving sexy enough to entertain. But then an extremely attractive service girl invited me for a game of pool. Now that made sense.

Review November 2005:

On a return visit, little had improved. The girls were below average and overdressed. They didn't seem to be making up for this via trying to be friendly either.

It seems to be a flaw in the concept of combining pool and gogo that the girls can occupy themselves playing pool rather than entertaining their customers.

Review October 2005:

A new GoGo has opened on 2nd Road on the eastern side of the road slightly south of the soi7/8 bar area. There are steps up to the venue which does not seem to have an obvious GoGo sign. Look for the sign showing a snooker hall. The venue is called Bentley's and attempts to combine a GoGo with a snooker hall.

My initial impressions were not good. The girls were a little below average and were over dressed for GoGo.

I was most unsettled by the layout. Customers are seated in front of the stage. The girls congregate in an area behind ones back and there is no way one can communicate preferences with a subtle glance. Instead the girls go into a conspiratorial huddle and suddenly present a candidate hostess and get it wrong.

The venue desperately needs some bench seating in view of the stage where customers can survey the environment and retain some level of control over proceedings.

They can't even tread water, so I'm going to have to persuade Roar to hire a swimming instructor for the poor darlings before someone drowns!

Having said that, some of the girls (particularly the waitresses!) are quite enthusiastic about diving to the bottom for billiard balls for which they receive 20 baht apiece. This is a nice twist on the ping-pong ball concept as you get a great view of the girls plunging desperately for a ball or three. Did I mention that they're not wearing anything while doing this and that you can appreciate everything from a well-lit side view which leaves nothing to the imagination? Excellent entertainment and a unique attraction in Pattaya, for sure.

Last night we had as many as five girls in the pool at a time, with at least three of them supplementing their income at 20 baht/ball.

The pool shows (and lesbian shows, and banana shows, and shower shows) do not run continuously, however. There is no real set time for most shows, it's up to Roar, Nara (the Thai manager who's there most nights), and Roar's trusty Saturday night assistant (that would be me) to get things going. So if you want to see a particular show, please ask and it will be done (sooner or later).

Review June 2006: I May be Gone Sometime

There were about 25 above average girls in attendance. 10 dancing at anyone time. The girls all wore bikini tops and although some unbuttoned their knickers, this revealed very little.

The service girls were friendly and many were sitting with customers They were very inattentive, but this was not a big issue.

The dancing pattern is dreadful. The girls dance for 10 songs, 2 per table for 5 tables. I bought a drink for a girl, waited for 10 songs, only to see her join another customer after she finished dancing. A shorter wait and I could have dealt with it, but after a 10 songs, the bad attitude spoilt my evening.

Review from Kerry, May 2006: Heavenly Shuffle

Some minor changes appear to have taken place. The girls (for the most part) now keep their tops on while dancing on the tables. Many have their "snap-together" panties undone, providing the occasional glimpse of heaven as they shuffle to the music.

The music is not bad for listening (70/80's pop and rock, not too loud), not great for the girls though as they never really seem to get into it.

They only seem to have 2 "shows" per night. One is either 2 sets of ladies loving each other, or 4 ladies doing suggestive things with bananas (but not that suggestive!). The other show involves two ladies loving each other in the shower booth.

My biggest complaint was the poor table service. On numerous occasions I wanted to order drinks, and was unable to get the attention of the wait-staff. I had to get one of the dancers to grab a waitress and bring her over.

20-25 dancers usually, most fairly young and a few cute ones. It doesn't seem to get very busy until around 10pm.

Note: No TVs in the go-go portion of the club (which means no continuous broadcast of old soccer matches. A small miracle to be thankful for).

Review from Pattaya Secrets, May 2006: Disinterested

For a bar off the beaten track, it's a surprisingly excellent venue.

This place is very large, compared to other Go Gos, which maybe a draw back due to its position, as it appeared very empty and without any real atmosphere.

The girls seemed very disinterested, when up on the tables, and most were sitting in a far corner talking to themselves. I did look for the owner, but could not spot him anywhere. Maybe the place slackens off if the owner is out.

Review from Pattaya Secrets, March 2006: Showered in Praise

For a bar off the beaten track, it's a surprisingly excellent venue.

Located on the ground floor of Center Condo, Blue Lagoon is a medium size table dance bar with a shower show and (shortly) a jacuzzi/pool show which will hopefully be something like the pool show in Freeway Bar several years ago.

Center Condo is a bit more than 100 meters inland from Second Road on the north side of South Pattaya Road. If you reach Soi Bukhao or Tuk.com you've come too far. You really can't miss the Center Condo building because there's nothing else quite as large in this immediate area.

Larger than Beavers but smaller than Beach Club, the bar is reasonably well laid out and appointed. There are plenty of cute service girls on hand and although there are only 25 dancers at the moment, most of them are quite attractive and not shy about going topless (and more).

Two of the mamasans that formerly worked at Club Boesche now work here and they've brought some very nice eye candy with them. So far the girls are friendly without being pushy and hopefully this attitude has remained since opening day.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the girls in this bar as they were dancing on the tables, then even more impressed when the shower cubicle was started up and in climbed two cute girls who proceeded to what all young ladies involved in lesbian shower show performances tend to do. In other words, it was hot, wet, and wild and will probably only get better as the bar gains a following (and more dancers). I believe there are several pairs of girls who do these shows at the moment, and once the pool is ready to go I'm sure there will be more of them on hand for those performances as well.

Blue Lagoon's most visible owner is Roar, an affable Norwegian fellow with an extremely apt name as he sports a leonine mane of bright blonde hair. Be sure to say hello as he seems like a genuinely pleasant guy who really wants to make his business succeed. Anther owner is Knud from Denmark.

Normally I'm not a fan of table dance clubs, but for this one I'm willing to make an exception because it's more of a show bar than a table dance club.

The music here is more pop music than anything but it's played at a level that easily permits conversation. You'll have no problem talking to your friends or lady of the evening here.

The bar started with about 25 girls all in (dancers and waitresses) and now boasts about 40 girls of whom 25 are dancers.

This bar is rarely packed to the point that you can't find a seat, but it's quite busy more often than not.

Review February 2006: Swimming in Praise

It is a little off the beaten track but in the end it was not hard to find. There is a small GoGo sign on Pattaya Tai along with a couple of welcome girls. A short trip down a dark passage, a stroll across the condo car park, a few steps through an associated beer bar and you are there.

The bar has about 15 top notch girls, not an oldie in sight. Full marks to the casting committee. The girls have the choice of attire for dancing with a very flexible skirt/knicker combination. They can choose to be fully modest, fully immodest, knickerless below a short skirt, or knickerless below a longer triangular affair that reveals little unless held up.

There are 5 stages in table dancing style, three are surrounded by comfortable bench seating and the others by stools. Although it looks like table dancing, it is run more like stage side gogo. Also the girls do not change tables during their 5 song stint so this limits the 20 baht tip-look-see opportunities.

The shows are fun and sexy too. There is a lesbian shower show (the shower cubicle is not viewable by all areas of the bar so choose your seat accordingly). The later shows were performed on all tables though. The shows are not particularly original but given that the girls are nude, young, fun and sexy then I would elect these over Angelwitch anytime.

The drink prices are very reasonable too so almost full marks. The only lost mark was that there were insufficient girls to dance, do shows, and play hostess. I departed when my drinks partner danced for 10 out of 12 songs.

Review from Kerry, July 2006: THE most expensive mixed drink

Shocked may be the best word to describe how I felt shortly after entering Pattaya's newest entry to the show-girl scene.

The Broadway Club is located on soi BJ, about 50 meters up from Walking Street (past TQ2), in what used to be The Las Vegas Club's site. If you take the shortcut from Marine Plaza to soi BJ, you end up right in front of the club.

I happened to be with a lady companion at the time. When we entered the club at 10:30pm, there were 2 farangs being entertained by the (owner ? mamasan ?) and that's it. The club itself seems to be a blend of Roman Coliseum meets Techno. Not large, can probably hold 70+ people. Bench seats along the walls and about a dozen of the smallest tables I've seen dotted around the edges of the stage.

There were 9 dancers on a small center stage, doing choreographed routines ala Angelwitch/Polo. Topless seems to be as far as it goes. Mostly nice looking, young girls, though no real stunners. The routines themselves weren't overly sexy, and the girls weren't looking too happy (as you might expect, dancing to a mostly empty club).

After doing a couple of show routines, the dancers put on civvy clothes and took up positions around the club and danced to the music. I actually liked the music. I call it party level. Loud enough that you can't really have a conversation without talking directly into your friends ear, but not ear-splitting volume. Mostly modern dance/club music I guess you'd call it. The girls seem to like it (unlike the music at places like the Blue Lagoon, where there girls barely even shuffle).

A couple of other punters came in over the next hour, the door staff almost appeared desperate to get them in the door. Two went right back out before the staff could close the door. One stayed for a single drink and scooted after seeing the bin. The other was still nursing his original drink when I left. The guys that stayed didn't seem to be getting hassled by the girls (Not that there are a lot of girls. Pretty much just the dancers and service staff).

So, why was I shocked ? I had my standard Jack (Daniels) and coke. Onn had a Breezer. The bin was 300 baht !!  (150 for the breezer and 150 for the mixed drink !!!).

THE most expensive mixed drink I've had in a go-go (although Galaxy apparently charges even more). I thought Polo was expensive at 130 baht for the same thing. Pretty expensive for a place with virtually no customers!

After seeing that, I had no desire to ask how much lady-drinks were, or bar-fines (if they had them). No signs on the walls anywhere showing drink or bar-fine prices.

Not sure if I'll go back again at all. If I do, I'll go alone and try to talk to some of the staff, to get some "in depth" information.

Review October 2005: Naff

I beg to differ from the previous reviewer. The bar is suffering from the all dancers on stage syndrome. There were 12 dancers on stage leaving only 1 to mingle. There are hostesses though, but that's not really the same.

The first show featured 3 young pretty girls but it was perfunctory and naff. As I would have to wait ages for my selected girl to end her dancing turn, I left pronto.

October 2005:

Carousel has always been one of my favourite temples of the chrome pole but seemed to have lost its way in recent times with a collection of dancers who could recall when mobile phones were the size of house bricks. Happily, the new regime has recruited a veritable plethora of superb dancing talent, so much so I now think the place rates once more in the top 10 in Fun Town.

The music is still variable, although more often listenable than not; draught beer is on tap all night at 45 baht and lady drinks are sensible at 95 baht. What is really outstanding are the shows: good lighting and different ideas; the offering from the Lickem-on-Toppe school of darting tongues is classic and what the 'virgin' in the vampire show does with a crucifix would make a nun blush.

Seemed to be spinning down with a much reduced numbers of girls. At about 8:30 there were just 4 bikini clad girls dancing. There were not many girls hanging around the bar either.

The place remains popular, the carousel being the first and still the best in Pattaya, but the music is dreadful and the quality of the chrome pole molesters is average, with a number sporting the well-fed look of the newly prosperous.

Many girls, many of them pretty and some, topless. Dance on a slowly revolving central stage. Have nude shows every so often.

Seems quite friendly but gets a little cramped.

I liked their shows the best this time around. But beyond the shows, they too had, in my humble opinion, more than their fair share of stunners. Outstanding, just outstanding. Definitely worth a visit.

under normal circumstances I would have grabbed her within a nanosecond, but being a gentlemen, and being my friends first visit, I passed her up and settled for the other one, when I say settled, I must add that she was also a beauty, with a more smoldering, dusky appeal to her, hard to choose really, now once again, why is it I love this place? Top marks for the management, the uniforms were more varied than my first visit, but a better than average number of beautiful girls.

This bar has the best pound for pound lineup of girls in Pattaya at this moment in time. The night I went I saw about 35 girls and there were only 5 that I wouldn't have gone with and my taste is very picky.

Review December 2005: Cat Show

Catz in Pattaya has picked up and the owners are delighted as they didn't expect to be doing this level of business just yet with many punters unaware of the existence of the complex.

They started shows last Saturday, commencing at 9.30 and thereon after on the hour and half hour is a 8-10 minute show (they then revert to normal dancing). The shows are a little different to the normal Pattaya fare and they plan to add two more at the end of this month - but these require more training / practice hence the delay.

For the first time ever on Tuesday night, they had to turn customers away as there was simply no way they could squeeze anybody else in there! A bar owner's dream and long may it continue.

November 2005:

I actually felt quite comfortable in there, although the wall sofa had a height level to make it impossible to nonchalantly rest your arm on, I liked the outfit on the girls, a sort of gold glittery diaphanous mini-mini skirt, and I noticed quite a few lookers around the place, some battle hardened veterans, but all reasonably attractive and slim. I actually liked the look of the club, and the ambiance, so I would definitely return again.
Toilet Tip: Small but nicely appointed, tasteful décor.

November 2005:

I am not really enjoying this bar much. I see others enjoying the company of pretty young things but I seem to only attract the attentions of the oldies. I popped in and was relieved to see that my oldie but friendly girl engaged in entertaining somebody else. Unfortunately she swung into action and organised for her oldie friend to join me. Time to 'check bin' quick quick.

I popped into Champagne last night and was greeted by door openers who couldn't be arsed to open doors. Sat down to prompt service but the bar had a gloomy atmosphere. It must be hard for a dancing girl to actually shuffle even less enthusiastically than usual but one girl achieved it by shuffling with folded arms.

It transpires that the very popular mamasang had a bit of a fall out with the boss and was fired. I rather think that the rest of the staff may depart shortly. It was a little sad to see my favourite girl doing her best to conjure up a little fun for me only to see it fade away into gloom a couple of minutes later. It was patently clear that she was very fond of her (ex) mamasang.

This place shows what a sheer will to succeed can achieve. The Pom owner really puts himself out to make people feel welcome and his attitude shows in his staff. Mamasan ,who looks more at home in a bank or office, is as nice as it is possible to be and seems to have a good rapport with the staff and enjoyed a joke with me on my last visit. She really has a nice attitude. free food on Sunday and cheep beer with very upfront bin system.

This place deserves to succeed and I for one, hope it does!

as you know I have been a little harsh in this place previously, so I was pleasantly surprised this time, the standard of girls seemed higher, I was joined by a very pleasant 20 year old from Korat, 49 kilos, which is a little over my best fighting weight, but she was tall so she actually was slim on 49 kilos, of course it was her first day working there, yeah right darling, and I’m Prince Charming about to take you away from all this and we can live happily ever after!

There were a couple of shows, one where leather clad lovelies whip each other up into a frenzy which they seemed to relish, and a body painting show which seemed overly long and fairly pointless, one of the ‘big girls’ on stage in the show the artist guy could practically have used a roller instead of a brush to save us all time! There are still a couple of overly large ladies dancing as well which puts at least me off, but praise where praise is due, the club is heading in the right direction again, bottled beer at 85 baht and lady drink fizzy pop crap at 90 baht, and the check bin vouchers are printed out in huge numerals for the benefit of us that require reading glasses to find the bin total in some bars, another brownie pint to the management.

Review from jj, March 2006: Strange Rotation

My only visit (so far) to Champagne was something of a strange experience. A friend and I wandered in there about 8:30 on a weeknight. There were about a dozen customers and a like number of girls. The odd thing was that all the girls were dancing. There was not one customer sitting with a girl!

Champagne seems to have an internal conflict going on. There are two separate rotations of dancers. One bikini group is in the central stage. To the right of the entrance are 4 lighted-poled tables with dancers in the open-crotch mini-shorts. These gals seemed to rotate every 4 songs. I never did figure out the center stage rotation. One gal stood out among the crowd as displaying her disproportionately large (store-bought?) assets. She never left the stage. Perhaps the 8 or so dancers there were rotating one at a time, but that would put each of them on stage for a very long time. I’m not sure where the non-dancers were hiding but they were not in evidence.

About half the dancers were topless but only one of the table-ladies was acting at all interested in the customers at their feet. When I visit a new place it is my habit to ask the mamasan to recommend a “fun” (ta-leung) girl. She pointed out two who were on stage and I selected #61. At this point, I was informed that it was show time and that she was going off to change.

Four of the former table dancers took center stage dressed in scarves tied around top and waist. After a couple of shuffling songs, the mamasan circled the stage removing their tops. A few songs later she repeated her lap taking the second scarf. This pattern proved all too common. That is, each new “show” element seemed to go on forever. The candle girls must have burned up a month’s supply of wax. My selectee finally made a reappearance in a whips and chains lesbian sequence that when on and on and on. The choreographer just didn’t seem to know when enough is enough.

During the respite from the stage, a few of the bikini gals did make an appearance among the customers. Sensing that #61 had yet to make an appearance to claim her waiting drink, the mamasan came over to play. She was almost a better choice. Her writhing in my lap took my mind off the interminable stage ‘show’. Finally, after the ice in her drink had watered it down even more, #61 came bounding out as if I was a customer who had given her a purple note tip. We had literally never laid more than eyes on each other, but she was straddling me like a long-lost ‘brother’.

My friend had called over on of the table dancers who had just moments ago been relieved of her two scarves. She resisted all efforts to remove any portion of her costume for the rest of the evening. Considering that #61 never left my lap to return to the stage, I never did figure out the rotation policy. Perhaps if the girl is called from the stage, she gets to sit as long as she has a drink (or wants to sit).

After a couple of hours, we decided to move on to greener pastures. But I intend to return both to find that mamasan and to decipher the plan of this rather odd arrangement.

The first time I visited I had a great time. The music was 60s and 70s rock and soul, and played at a comfortable volume, so that you were able to talk to friends. I also met the owner, a personable chap from Halifax, England. The girls were nothing to write home about, but they seemed a friendly bunch. There were a few shows on offer that were reasonably entertaining. The bar was quite full with customers, most of whom seemed to be regulars. I spent a couple of hours there, and was quite happy with my visit.

The next visit, a week later, was totally different. The owner was not around (which may explain things); the music was overly loud and consisted of awful (to these old ears) rap and hip-hop music. There were fewer customers and the girls seemed pushier. I couldn't wait to get out of there. It shows that bars can change from week to week - if not minute to minute!

Review by jj, May 2006: What’s up with the jacuzzi?

As the place filled up a bit about 9pm, two of the dancers walked to the back of the bar, casually shrugged of their costumes and stepped into the bubbly water. There they sat for the next hour or so. They seemed deeply engaged in conversation but completely ignored the customers and other dancers sitting nearby. Two naked ladies languishing in a bathtub might be sexy under some circumstances. These two might have been so had not the entire bar been filled with naked ladies!

Champion’s management has succumbed to the current fashion trend of knickerless micro-mini skirts. It hardly seems to matter though. As the dancers ascend the stage, they immediately sweep aside the triangles on top and remove the skirt. Having seven naked ladies to look at detracts from the two sitting waist-deep in frothy water – there wasn’t even a sponge or soap in evidence.

The dancers showing all offered something for any discerning eye. As another punter remarked, there are indeed veterans among them. One stocky veteran as 5 stars tattooed on her ample chest. One can only speculate as to what conquests they signify. There were a number of stunners among the group – one set of twins was exceptional.

The early arrivers at any bar seem to gravitate to the bench seating, leaving the bar stools for the late comers. However, at Champions, those late comers were seemingly treated to a more up-close-and-personal view of the dancers.

All in all, an evening at Champions was highly enjoyable. The gals who came to sit with my group were friendly and accommodating. There was almost no pressure to buy lady drinks (we bought a bunch) nor the incessant "I go with you" banter.

Two other observations, one good, one bad. The rotation policy has 7 girls on the stage rotating one at a time. With perhaps 30 girls in the place, the one sitting with you is not going anywhere for a while. If you choose more that one companion though, try to be sure that they are not close in the rotation or both will be gone for a long time when their number is called.

On the downside, the music is just a bit too loud for a sustained conversation. It is limited to the shout in the ear type of exchange. Why can’t the managers understand that volume does not equate to quality?

If long-service medals are ever awarded to the dancers then surely some of the first in line for a raft of decorations would be many of those employed by Champion.

The place plays good music and always has and if you fancy obtaining an almost 100% view of stretch marks, dimples, pockmarks, and sagging protruding bits, then Champion is the place for you.

In an increasingly competitive market, the décor is desperately in need of a makeover, not only in terms of fixtures and fittings but of the staff.

The good seats are always in the back. Lots of lovely ladies in their birthday suits. We also enjoyed the education videos playing on the TV and the great combination of rock and dance music.

Champion can still be counted on to have a full bevy of pretty dancers and a full house. It's been that way for over 10 years. Any bar that can last that long in Pattaya and be consistently at the top must be a great place to go for a beer.

Review January 2006: Most Fun on Walking Street

Last trip I spent a lot of time in Champion A-Go-Go. The girls there are only average in looks but some of the most fun on Walking Street. In fact, one night about 1am, the owner of Dollhouse and I decided to do some bar hopping. I suggested Champion. He said he didn't want to go there, he wanted to check out some places with better looking girls. I told him, lets go in for 15 minutes, if its no good, we'll move on. Within 5 minutes of sitting down, we each had 2 girls fondling us with their hands inside our clothing. I had on shorts and one of my girls rolled up my pant leg and was giving me head while we sat next to the stage, trying to get me to pay her bar fine.

They don't have shows and the girls don't show. Mistys is showing, so that dispels the non-showing myth in Pattayaland 2. Classroom isn't adapting very well to current environment. Putting in a better stereo system is nice, but that's not enough, it just doesn't cut it. Most guys want to see some nudity and sleazy shows. They want excitement, flash, energy, not a drab unimaginative environment. Fond memories and nostalgia can go only so far.

Try it for nostalgia purposes if you must, but remember your entering at your own risk. The bar just doesn't rate anymore.

Review January 2006: Top of the Class

Well, what can you say about the place, it's practically a Pattaya institution now, like the even longer running Tahitian Queen.

Nowadays, the Classroom is a hugely successful place, always well attended, and most of the waitresses are ex-dancers so there is almost a family atmosphere if you know what I mean, not literally families, but a sort homely familiarity about the place, and the first place of the night that I felt comfortable enough to have a second and even third beer in. The girls on stage were wearing nice blue and white uniforms, a little bit more like the 'classic' Classroom look, never really took to the tartan style, but talking to the waitress, she said they have three different uniforms on a rotation, so perhaps I just got the lucky day. Well run, and properly 'managed' in so much is that there is always a manager in the club that actually seems to care about his customers and mingles, making sure everyone is happy and looked after, Classroom has a successful web sites and encourages return visits, both building up a regular, loyal clientele base where there's always somebody in town that will come and party.

Beer appeared to be 100 baht a bottle, bought a lady drink for a waitress, straight tequila shot, tipped another waitress 100 baht. If you are familiar with the bar and its staff, the 'tom' mamasan is currently sporting on her head what looks like Gary Glitters old wig with a yellow 'skunk' line running through it, hilarious to look at and worth the price of a beer just to gawk in amazement. Also noticed that seem to be synchronizing both music and video entertainment.
Toilet Tip: Small but nicely appointed, seems to have been tastefully redecorated fairly recently, and a second 'throne room' opened.

Very loud music and I could not make myself understood.

Summer 2005:

Bar with many girls. Several pretty girls to be seen. Ridiculously overdressed in tartan pleated skirts and white blouses. The service girls in many GoGos are dressed more sexily than the dancers here. No sign of any nudity in the afternoons.

The girls are quite friendly and are happy to approach the guys.

Nevertheless, the music is good and usually not too loud and the aircon works fine considering the large crowds. The downstairs 20' x 30' (approx) stage is routinely filled with three rows of bikini clad dancers x four across, plus two on the front corners. Those on the corner are frequently confused about whether they are in a gogo or a nudist camp.

Above, on the plexi-glass second level are from two to four more dancers who tend to be very naughty in a delightful way. This group is either nude or covered in soap suds depending upon the time and provide a different perspective for the wannabe gynecologists that abound around here.

Of course the sunken jacuzzi at the rear of the venue is still populated by one to three damsels who always seem to be licking the soap bubbles off the groin areas (and below) of their lovely sisters of the suds.

All in all it is a fun place. The voyeur quality of the ladies is above average. No cellulite visible anywhere that I looked. There is not a lot of 'lady drink' pressure but it is there for those who like to be generous. Politely say no and you will be left alone. Drink prices are higher a bit than most places. Frequented most I think by a large number of local expats and their visiting buddies, there does not seem to be a low season there.

My main problem with the bar the service girls are slow on drink delivery and a little pushy for drinks.

Pretty good lineup with some definite take outs. The girls show, they dance pretty good, they are friendly, the ones I took were good fun and they haven't gone nuts on longtime prices, 2000 baht.

The jacuzzi is a fixture, the girls are still soaped up doing the lesbian nasty show. They're not shy, one night a cutey drenched in suds leapt out of a jacuzzi and inserted tongue down throat of a punter sitting on the nearest couch.

There's a sprinkling of table top dancers around the main stage. A couple of butt naked dancers gracing the front left and right corners of the main stage.

The glass dance floor on the 2nd floor is usually populated by ladies naked or soaped up.

When I was in here just two weeks ago the place was tremendous, so there was probably no way it was going to live up to my expectations, and sure as eggs is eggs, it wasn’t as hot, the hostess with the mostest that kept me amused last time wasn’t around.

I have just had to go back and read what I wrote about the place in early December, because the place has gone through an unbelievable transformation, I thought I had careered into SuperBaby A Go-Go by mistake, the place was heaving, practically standing room only both upstairs and downstairs, where did all these people come from?

Still some waitresses about wearing my own perverted favourite naughty schoolgirl look , but now most of the 'hostesses' are wearing the most beautiful figure hugging mini dresses, wow! See them to believe them. A couple or more kateoys dotted around, but not overly conspicuous, the girls on stage also were of a real good standard, gone are the red bikinis of December to be replaced by various ensembles of mini, mini skirts in lycra or denim. I just love a little mystery, a little less naked flesh, more to discover, like unwrapping presents at Christmas.

One of the lovely hostesses took a shine to me, and this time it was mutual, so she slid in beside and made me feel warm all over! Over my head on the glass floor there was a full bloodied naked lesbian show going on writhing around pressing flesh against the floor, fairly horny stuff I have to say.

Tremendous fun place at the moment, my heartiest congratulations to the management in transforming what was just an average place in December into the hottest joint around right now, catch it while it lasts.

Back by the bar, they have a 4 person jacuzzi sunk in the floor. Across from the bar side there are the high round tables with high bar stools. On the other two sides are deep high backed sofas against mirrored walls. We sat on the sofas. Very very comfortable.

There is always anywhere from 1-4 girls in the tub. If its one, she is probably doing a finger insert masturbation show. If its two or more its a lesbian scene. They had a dykie looking one one night and a young pretty girl. It was like watching a wolf devour a lamb. The young girl was squealing and trying to get away from the dykes 2-3 finger probe. She would settle for arching her back and letting the dyke eat her until she came. The bar feeds these girls tequila shots all night to keep them wild.

Club Boesche was that night closed! I saw their was what looked like a staff meeting inside (at 11 pm!) and no girls were present. After, I have been told that they had a 2 day STRIKE !! from the girls, who were not paid correctly. I returned 2 days later and saw that the number of girls and customers went down significantly. I suppose a very bad experience for the owner.

Review December 2005: Bar for 50+ Patrons

Seemed a load of punters in there, I didn't get around to counting them all but I would say there must have been 50+ didn't see too many girls but again it was getting late and they could have been bar fined.

Review November 2005:

All of the 75 dancing girls are decked out in red bikinis, a few chunkies, spotted one real cute looking, but shy young thing dancing. It's a nice looking place, although not quite as big as I had imagined from the review.

I ordered a Heineken from the nicely decked out waitress. I didn't stay for too long as I was on tour, again no pressure for lady drinks, and no offers of 'friendship', but then I was surprised to check the bin to see that the beer was 110 baht, I felt that was overly dear for a place like that when compared to Super Baby A-GoGo where the girls are consistently cuter.

I paid with a 'purple passion note' and of course they pulled the coin trick with the change, 4 hundreds, a fifty, a twenty and four five baht coins, hoping I was a tourist, so I left two of the coins when of course they were expecting me to leave all four, but all in all that's 120 baht for a Heineken! I feel I will return for another look, but maybe not in Premier place list.

November 2005:

The bar is maintaining the momentum and seems very popular. The mixture of gogo on stage, table dancing and a couple of girls cavorting nude in a centrally located jacuzzi must be doing the business. There is a shower upstairs too

The show was a little weak though. I was hardly convinced by a lesbian show where the knickers remain on. However it is repeated upstairs with a knickerless version.

Anyway I didn't notice the show much as my drinks companion was looking after me very well indeed.

On previous nights I had thought that the girls were a little ''offish'' especially the ''showgirls'' who seemed to be in hiding when not on stage.. However I have been there twice this week and decided to change tactics. Once I had seen a girl I fancied I just called a waitress over and told her to get the girl a drink. Once the dance was over the girl came across and made for a pleasant evening.

Review May 2006: Call of the Wild

After Stickman's new snippet I simply had to stop by and check out the bar now the 'bitches' have gone. I was well impressed.

The overly modest Coyotee dancer costumes have been replaced by standard bikini issue but this is more much more sexy. One wonders why the bar persisted with the dreadful old uniform for so long.

But most importantly the girls were circulating amongst the customers for a chat and a lady drink or two. Hell, two pretty girls even found time to have a chat with me.

So now the bar not only boasts well above average girls, there is now a good atmosphere of fun. Not surprisingly the bar was comfortably full.

One strange thing though, there was a forlorn girl standing alone in an empty 'bath tub' on the upper floor. I was told that the tubs are only filled with water when it is sufficiently busy. The girl should have given up on the lone vigil and come and joined the fun downstairs.

News from Stickman, May 2006: Bitches Packed Off

Coyotee's over the past few weeks has sacked eight of their girls for basically being bitches. The most common knock on Coyotee's was that the bar's reputation is that of a bar with gorgeous women who think their shit don't stink. Apparently, the bosses at Coyotee's have heard this all too often and actually are trying to change the atmosphere of the bar. Well done!

We arrived at show time, so we were immediately confronted with acres of stunning flesh and long flowing tresses of the Coyotee showgirls, impressive every time, not a chubby or bad looker amongst them, I just wish they didn’t have a ‘my shit doesn’t stink’ attitude problem, or maybe I am just not rich enough or handsome enough for them to bother talking to me, oh, woe is me!

Strangely, between the shows all the ‘normal’ girls came on and danced wearing hot pants and cropped tops with the legend COYOTEE GIRLS on them, hmmm! not sure about that idea, although they were cute enough I feel that perhaps a bit more flesh could have been flashed.

Another thing that is starting to annoy me, I am thinking of starting an anti ‘ping pong’ campaign, certainly in Coyotee’s this is getting a bit much, the manager? or perhaps his cliquey buddies were over indulging and the balls were practically raining down from the balcony. if you like a lady just slip her a tip when she’s next to you or hand it to her on stage, the ping pong ball thing was fun at first but it’s getting a bit stale now and annoys the hell out of this customer at least when a rugby scrum spoils my enjoyment of perusing the naked gyrating flesh!

I perambulated around to my now ex-favourite Coyotee's A Go-Go. I have praised this place before for the beauty of it's dancers and show girls, despite the fact that everyone of them totally ignores me, and tonight was no different. The place was fairly busy and remains a decent place with decent looking women. I had just the one Heineken, getting late into the evening now, so forgot to look at the bill, but it's not extortionate.

Review January 2006: Popularity Shows

I arrived at about 9pm to check out the hot reviews. And hot it was not. There were a team of overdressed dancers in hot pants and clinging short tee-shirts. The dancing was desperately static. Other girls were hanging around the bar looking very bored.

The 2nd dancing shift were wearing more traditional gogo fare and went topless/and or knickerless. An improvement, but this did not seem to be doing much to inspire the audience of six.

But then it was show time and the crowds flocked through the doors. Within an hour the bar was basically full. The shows were pretty straight forward but featured some very pretty girls getting naked and showing far more knicker bacon than most other bars.

Suddenly the supporting dancing teams had also become animated and one realised that many of them too were very alluring.

The transformation surely explained some of the mixed reviews but the best lesson is that the customers surely like to see young and sexy girls show their wares. A lesson a few other bars should take note of.

Review January 2006: Lick Till it Hurts

The management have come up with a novel and definitely very successful new show item. On Thursday nights starting at around 11:00PM, a dozen young ladies compete in what I can only describe as the les-be-friends lick-off. Employing the use of their tongues for their second-favourite exercise after eating, all 12 of the girls take to the stage and begin their show. As one song ends a pair of damsels come off stage until, after a half hour or so, there's just one couple left writhing in sweat and saliva as the ultimate victors.

Still a consistently high standard of totty on display, showgirls still aloof, but I did notice that the stool at the bottom of the fireman's pole had been reupholstered, the previous on had taken a right battering from many a stiletto heel in rapid descent, and I noticed that the one girl who did descend during my time there, did so head first, new policy? The bar is a shadow of its former self during its heyday in the spring of 2005. The shows and quality of the ladies hasn't improved since the New Years/Xmas holidays. The bar is still short of good looking girls, a few doables and that's it.

The shows have become somewhat lackluster. No real packed huge crowds as before, the feet are voting. Diamond is no longer competitive. I found the girls boring as well.

Customer service was good and the bins were spot on. The girls aren't pushy for drinks.

After a few visits to the Diamond A-Go-Go this last week I must say it has definitely improved, IMHO, since the last trip. The quality of the music has been upgraded, the volume is down (but it is always loud in these places), the attitude of the girls has improved and the drink prices are reasonable. Your mileage may vary.

The are plenty of girls dancing in various states of undress on the central stage and others dancing on spare spaces amongst the customer seating.

The music is based on getting the girls dancing rather than appealing to the ears of the oldies. And it works, the girls were making a good effort

A big improvement but it certainly isn't yet going to get on my circuit of bars as the girls are surprisingly below average in terms of looks and takeaway potential.

The Dollhouse has recently stopped its happy hour promotion. This is due to the new boss in charge. Draft beer has increased from 45 baht to 99 baht but I didn't see any vast improvement in the bar or the girls to warrant such a price rise. It is early days though so it might be one to keep an eye on.

The Dollhouse on Walking Street has reportedly been sold for 10 million baht. The sale is not final yet, but the transaction was said to have been completed late last month. This might explain the steep pricing that has ensued.

Saying that draft beer is now advertised as I strolled past at a very cheap 30 Baht. I am not sure whether this was happy hour or not.

Pattaya Talk readers were polled as to whether the bar is to be avoided, good for a nights visit or just for 30-60mins. 69% voted for the latter choice.

There were about 10 girls on the rotating stage with 2 of them changing per song. The girls were pretty enough but not quite top flight.

Plenty of girls on hostess duty and they seemed to be getting on well with the customers.

I have often dropped by in the hope that things would have improved but really, it has never rally captured the magic it had in its first year of operation. But perhaps, after a few years of being on the outer they have returned to being one of the better bars again. The Dollhouse has a new manager, many new staff, a new sound system and some very attractive girls. The happy hour is 7:30 - 9:00 PM with local drinks a competitively priced 45 baht and as a bonus, they have Tiger Beer on tap for 45 baht ALL NIGHT. The Dollhouse Pattaya is back on the must visit list.

Review Summer 2005:

A continuous show for the tourists. Featuring darts, eggs, ping pong balls etc. Nothing too sexual though.

The girls don't mingle with the audience nor are there any hostesses. A good place for those who prefer to avoid the prostitution aspect of Pattaya's nightlife.

Not long after we had taken a seat on the sofa, a third totally naked bird took the opportunity to slither across my lap (totally unexpected and uninvited) - knocking my beer over. Not only did she reduce my stubby to a half full state without me enjoying too much of it but she rudely interrupted the conversation I had just started with the bird I had bought a drink for.

She removed her body from my lap and stood with her hand out – she had the audacity of seeking a tip – and I stress I neither invited or wanted her. My mate joked she was looking for payment for services rendered. What services? I politely gestured for her to POQ but she wasn’t leaving in a hurry. My mate told her a little (not much) more strongly that we were happy with the two girls we were talking with and didn’t need her. She threw her head back and charged away. She returned 30 seconds later – smashed a plastic sign down on the table in front of me “It is Galaxy policy that 100 baht tip must be given ...” 100 baht for what! That was enough for me – I was out of there.

Get a load of this... Tab – 2 lady drinks @ 300 baht + 2 small Heineken @ 220 baht = 1,040 baht for a small amount of entertainment.

Review Summer 2005

Khun Biw, the enterprising owner of Polo next door, recently opened her latest venture Galaxy Cabaret on 4 August. Situated up the stairs right next door to Polo, the cabaret features erotic shows, table dances, and private dances (the latter being a method designed to unload only your wallet and nothing else) performed by women who have seen more snow than a Colombian cocaine dealer.

I'm led to believe the dancers are all genuine blondes from countries with unpronounceable names ending in 'stan'.

One of the features of the new den is the enclosed glass cubicle facing Walking Street where one dancer shimmies and wiggles in an attempt to entice those strolling by to come upstairs for a closer and more intimate look.

Anyway, the drink's are expensive to say the least, 200 Baht for beer, 250 baht for a Vodka and soda. On the menu it has a list of things like prices for lap dancing all around 1500 and upwards. At the bottom it had a price of an evening all night escort of $150 (US). Which I thought was really steep, until one of the Ivana humpalots descibed it was only for short time, at which point both I drank up and left.

Prices aside, the club is very well laid out and extremely comfortable. If you are going in as a pair, I recommend you sit beside one of the pillars, that way you can't be accessed by the wandering lap dancers who are out for tips. My mate got hit every minute, I was beside the pillar. Girls were on the whole good to stunning, I must say some tasty but expensive totty. too much for me.

Every time a stripper finishes her act she walks around the customers proffering her g-string for a tip. I decline the first such request and after a few minutes of intense staring she moves on to the next mark (customer).

There is a small sign sitting on the table in front of me that I had not noticed. It say "House Rules - You MUST tip the dancers at least one dollar or one Euro" I explain to the stripper that I have not got any dollars or Euros and she looks a little perplexed.

Next thing she asks me if I want a private dance. I ask how much and she says 600 baht. I am surprised it's that reasonable until she adds for 3 minutes. You can have a double for 1,000 she says (two songs) or a triple for 1500. So that includes a blow job and a bonk I ask. She answers, no sex but claims her dancing is better than sex.

I say I'll think about it but I can buy her a lady drink if she like. Yes, she likes, price 350 baht. By this time the next stripper is in my face and I once again say not today thank you. She points to the offending sign on the table and I just shrug. She wittily responds - well why the fuck did you come here then while giving me a filthy look. Nice.

Next thing a 300 pound six foot six European goon in a black suit arrives and stands opposite me. He has a nice crew cut and the sort of icy stare reserved for James Bond movie bad guys. That's my manager says the girl. By this time I'm feeling less than welcome so finish off my beer pay the 550 baht bill for my 5 minute visit and leave.

Phase III will include relocating the DJ to the back corner and a redesign of the bar. Phase IV will involve the stage. No dates have been set for Phase III or IV.

Last night Heavens Above was absolutely stuffed with beautiful women, from the ‘staff’ to the dancers to the showgirls, all at least 8-9’s. Every girl in there seemed to want to be my friend, such a vivid contrast from Coyotee’s, maybe it’s because they know me better and know I am a sucker for a sweet smile and hot body when it comes to lady drinks, or maybe they just really have a better attitude.

My favourite ‘Office Girls’ routine was back, and the girls really seem to get stuck in to the lesbian shows. The only downside of the place is because it is so cosy, it seems to have become more popular and was full of younger, more handsome guys than myself, but the women stunning, simply stunning!

This is a place that seems to fluctuate wildly as far as experiences are concerned. Some nights the den is a hive of activity and packed to the rafters with superb examples of the art of the chrome pole; other times, because expectations are so high, it disappoints. Definitely worth visiting at least twice, especially if your first experience is only mildly enjoyable.

January 2006: Good Manners Consigned to the Bin

Good looking girls, and friendly. Problem occurred when it came time to check bin. Bill was 680 baht. Gave 700 and service girl never came back with change. Problem is if she would have come back with change another 50 baht would have been added so the bar loses. Also the girl I bought many lady drinks for fucked off to another customer as soon as I checked my bin. She should have seen me off before hand.

When I was there last week about 9:00 in the evening, the place was so full, you couldn't get a seat, and all of the stunners were taken on the couch/beds.

Last your this was one of my favorites, but if you cannot sit down, what's the point.

Heaven's Above has been my favourite place lately, despite its small size, before there were always some very cute waitresses and a bunch of good looking dancers, the previous show at around 11 p.m. with the girls dressed as office girls stripping off was to die for! This night I couldn't see any of my cute young serving wenches, and the show had changed, no office girls, damn! However, the new show featured the girls writhing around semi naked on stage feeding each other bananas, so all was not lost! Still in my top list, but slipping a little.
Toilet Tip: They have just built some new urinals so you don't have to break your neck bending down into the old one, but very narrow, I would imagine some chaps struggling to squeeze into them, certainly couldn't get past in anyone was using the first receptacle.

November 2005:

Plenty of young and pretty dancers about 10 of whom dance at anyone time. It is nice that there is not a strict dancing uniform and it seems up to the girls to improvise a little with what they wear. This can be quite sexy and later on in the evening when it can seem more like a sexy disco than a gogo.

The shows are also sexy. In particular the lesbian show was treated with more reality than most I have seen. It makes a change from some rather giggly affairs that I have seen at other bars.

On the whole the girls were average for Walking Street but there were plenty that would make very attractive companions for the evening. In fact whilst I was visiting, there was a fair stream of girls leaving in civvies in tow of a customer.

The girl that I chatted too was good company and up for a bit of hands on fun so I had a good time there.

Perhaps a somewhat underrated venue that seems to get little comment in the Pattaya forums.

November 2005:

Large central stage with plenty of girls, just a couple of them were topless but they were all sporting little skirts without underwear. It is really up to the girl how revealing she would like this arrangement to be. Not really a top class selection of girls but there were enough that were easy on the eye.

The girls were a friendly bunch and I was lucky enough to enjoy the company of a particularly lively hostess. She kindly informed me about the convenient short time rooms.

The dancing girls then all take the stage. All 20 of them cram onto the stage. There seems no chance for the girls to do anything more than a slight shuffle. As soon as it is time for the next show the mass of girls occupy the back of the bar for the one song until they go back.

The show girls were faring better as only half are required for each show giving them a little more time circulate and socialise.

The bars ends up having a pack of lonely ladies on one side and a few lonely customers dotted around the rest of the bar.

Hardly seems a good justification for the steep drinks prices.

Once a big favorite of mine, Hooty's has been way down on my list for a good while. After Andy sold it, it went downhill in my opinion. It lost a lot of it's former spontaneity and life. Anyway, the place was buzzing with customers who were all being taken care of quite well. All in all, I thought it was a big improvement over what it was 6 months ago.

Review December 2005: Not Such a Hoot

Hooty's is struggling a bit of late. The shows are mostly awful these days and they have become very pushy with ladydrinks. They pissed me off on that front about 6 weeks ago but they surpassed themselves the last time I was in there. I was pounced upon by some buffalo almost before my arse had hit the chair with a service girl completing the pincer movement and asking if I'd like to buy her (the buffalo) a drink. Since I hadn't been asked if I'd like a drink I told them to fuck off and left.

October 2005:

The bar has been forced to resume happy hour beers but it is not helping much. The venue seems a lame duck at the moment. I left on the account of loneliness.
