Kamala is the kind of place you can relax with friends in a small restaurant or local bar, so nightlife tends to be low key. Phuket FantaSea forms the main evening attraction at Kamala Beach, where Thai legends mix with pyrotechnics, acrobatics and elephants for an amazing spectacle and theatrical experience. Kamala's other options - small bars and local restaurants are low-key and relaxed. Not surprising as Patong's bright lights are just 10 minutes away.

Although Kamala has grown rapidly, you can still find the seaside village atmosphere that first attracted visitors. The beachside bars are a good spot for a sundowner and to catch a glimpse of local fisherman coming in for the evening.

When the sun goes down, most visitors prefer to stroll through the village from their hotel or guesthouse to one of the small local restaurants - basic but tasty. During the high season months, local vendors set up stalls along the beach, so you can stroll along and pick up some beach wear bargains and souvenirs.

A USD$100 million Thai cultural extravaganza covering an area of over 140 acres with a live show featuring elephants, tigers and other animals, traditional Thai dancing, pyrotechnics, light and sound, acrobatics and more. Two shows are performed nightly, with an optional dinner.

There's an opportunity to stroll around the grounds and find some more unusual souvenirs at some of the market stalls and shops after the show. You can also meet with the "celebrity" animals for a photo or two. Great for all ages.
